AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): 16 years old newly married minor housewife was allegedly killed by in-laws members by setting fire on her.

The deceased has been identified as Madhumita Sarkar. The 16 years old girl was married 6 months before. She was married with Anikesh Sarkar of Gajariya, DM Tilla.

It was alleged that she was physically tortured by her in-laws members.

Also allegations raised that her in laws created pressure on her to bring money from her father. Centering this, Madhumita’s in-laws members set fire on her.

The demise Madhumita’s father, Anil Sarkar of West Narayanpur area demanded exemplary punishment of the criminals.  On Friday, State Women's Commission chairperson, Barnali Goswami visited the girl's father's house and heard about the incident.
