AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): It is known that Sanu Dutta, a youth from Kanchanbari area, drowned while bathing with his friends in Manu river in the Betchhara area of Kumarghat yesterday afternoon.

Since the incident, NDRF and firefighters had been searching for the youth. After a 6-hour effort by the government investigators, local fishermen finally entered the river at around 8 pm.

The frozen body of the missing youth was rescued from the water in two hours after moving away from modern technology and using the method of barbing locally.

The body of the youth was recovered at around 10 pm and taken to the local hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.    Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased, including the family members, broke down in tears as soon as the news was spread. The body was sent to the hospital morgue in Fatikara at night. After the autopsy on Friday, it was handed over to the family members.
