AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): AMC cleaning workers held protest in Nagerjala for being beaten by a resident in the area. According to the staff, Upon learning of Gouranga's wife's COVID infection from other people in the neighborhood, the cleaning staff urged not to take the garbage from Gouranga’s home, in the Modern Club area, for 14 days. Later due to rain, the staff couldn’t reach the area for 4-5 days. After resuming their duties, when the AMC workers reached the area to collect garbage, Gouranga’s wife who is a teacher by profession made derogatory remarks on the workers and allegedly slapped a female worker named Namita Pal.
Protesting the incident, the workers gheraoed Gouranga’s home and said that they will not collect garbages from that area till Gouranga’s wife seeks an apology.
However, starting from doctors, nurses, security guards, cleaning workers, almost every day they are being treated inhumanly while they are serving society. The law and order in the state seem to be diminishing creating a mess within the state.
