AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Financial crisis hits the state, increasing theft cases have hit normal lives in various populated areas in Tripura. The police have claimed about curbing crimes but the ground reality shows different scenarios. Thefts and robberies are increasing rapidly state wide. Some people believe that due to income less situations forcing youths to be involved with illegal activities. AD Nagar police arrested a youth while robbing iron rods from Ramthakur College.
The arrested youth has been identified as Sanu Mia, resident of Rajnagar area, while he was stealing rod from Ramthakur College he was caught red-handed by local public. On being asked the thief admitted that he came there to steal iron rods. Getting informed the AD Nagar police rushed to the spot and the locals handed over the thief to the police.
Locals claimed the fence behind the Ramthakur College is broken and taking advantage, thieves entering the College premises and taking valuable items often. Centering the increasing theft incident in the state is generating panic among states people. Over increasing theft incidents in the state question is being raised about the security of common people.
