AGARTALA, May 29 (TIWN):A large quantity of Foreign liquor was recovered from a car registered No.- TR08B0480 on Friday during Corona curfew. The person who is being involved with this foreign liquor delivery case is a son of the ruling party leader.

It is known that amid Corona curfew the son of a BJP leader has been delivering foreign liquor to the customers in his own car for a long time. Based on secret sources, the Belonia police led a raid at Saatmura area and arrested Surjit Som alias Sunu’s car for being involved with liquor delivery during corona curfew.  Earlier too the police recovered illegal foreign liquor from Sonu’s shop at Saatmura area, but every time Sonu was released from the PS  under the pressure of ruling party leaders as his father is ruling party supporter. 

For a long time, the local people have been alleging that he is freely selling local liquor including foreign liquor in the Belonia area but no stern action was taken against him. But on Friday evening, when Sonu went out to deliver illegal liquor in his private car, regd No.- TR08B0480,  Additional SP, Randhir Debbarma including the police of Belonia PS seized his vehicles from Satmura area, Belonia with huge amounts of illegal liquor.

However, Police could not catch Sonu as he left the car and fled away from the spot.  Police brought the car to the Belonia PS from the spot and huge amounts of illegal foreign liquor were recovered from the car. Now it remains to be seen what stern action will be taken against the BJP leader’s son.  Centering the repeatedly release from Police net under the pressure of ruling leaders shows that no law and order remains in the state in this Hira Era.
