AGARTALA, May 27 (TIWN): 30 years old Kohinur Begum died due to the Blood Crisis existing in the state which has increased since CM Biplab Deb has taken the charge as Health Minister. A visionless Health system in Tripura led patient parties many times to accuse the Govt and the System for deaths of patients and in Kohinur's death also the same allegation came. The patient party confirmed that they will lodge a complaint against the IGM Hospital located Blood Bank as it did not collect blood for a long time even after having a blood donor ready to donate blood. Demised Kohinur's husband's Billal Mia, who is a daily worker, told the media, "We took her to Bishalgarh hospital and the Doctor after delivery referred her to IGM hospital. We reached IGM hospital at around 2 pm and IGM hospital asked us for blood with Blood Group A Negative which is rare".
"However I managed donors and then the Hospital said, they are wrong and so they now need AB Positive Blood. I told the blood bank that I will arrange 5 bottles of blood and requested them to give me 2 bottles of blood but they did not agree. This is the corruption I suspected. Then an AB positive blood donor was brought before them by us, but the Blood Bank staff were delaying blood collection, even though ward members called them to collect blood fast. At last at around 7 pm, she died. This is huge negligence of the Blood Bank".
