AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Terrible fire broke out in a sweets making factory at Belonia, North Sonaichari, Shatrughna Para in Rajib Majumder’s house on last Sunday around 4 Pm.

According to Rajib, unlike everyday, last Sunday after making sweets, he took it to his sweet’s shop for sale. Suddenly he received a call from home at around 4 o'clock that a terrible fire had caught in his sweet making factory.

Immediately it was informed to the Fire Department but before reaching the fire department personnel’s’ the fire was brought under control with the effort of local people. But the sweet factory was burnt to ashes and nothing was saved.

However the cause of the fire is not known but it is suspected that the fire broke out from the oven or short circuit.

However, according to Rajib, the house owner said the damage amount estimated was over Rs 1 lakhs.
