AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Just like E-Rickshaw drivers were given fake promises of Rs. 1000 help in 2020's pandemic period, now in 2021 though Tripura Govt consistently claiming that poor people are getting helps from the Govt including APL poor families but the ground reality shows that a large section of poor men's voices are actually suppressed by mainstream media in the state and their agonies remain unrecorded, raising question, is Mass-Media is for Mass or the Politicians ? Talking to the daily workers at Battala market, they told TIWN that no help was given by the State Govt to them and also no work can be arranged in lockdown. Although the State Govt said that project works will be continuing amid curfew, the question raises, why doesn't the Govt start project works in curfew, lockdown and engage these workers ?

One of the workers said, "The situation is not new. For years, the work demands have decreased a lot and the economic situation in their families remained tight. Everyday we come here and return empty hands. In this curfew, the situation is just the worst. If it goes on like this, then only one option will remain to us that is to die with our children".
