AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): 10323 teacher Bidhu Bhushan Das, from Salem Bazar, Kamalpur subdivision, was brutally attacked by anti-socials and bike forces in a cowardly manner at 8 am today and is still undergoing treatment at Kulai Hospital. He suffered severe head injuries and severe back and leg injuries.

As press conference is forbidden for Covid_19's Corona curfew, so the JMC of 10323 teachers took on social media to condemn the incident.

A 10323 teacher said, “We have noticed that since March 3, 2018, teachers in different districts and sub-divisions of the state have been subjected to a series of inhumane cowardly attacks on them and their family members by the anti-social elements in various ways. We, the Joint Movement Committee 10323, strongly condemn these incidents. We humbly demand to the State Police administration and the State Home Minister that the anti-social goons who are organizing such cowardly and barbaric attacks on sacked teachers should be given exemplary punishment and arrested. If not so we will stage protest in different districts and sub-divisions of the state in a democratic manner and continue our movement until we have a fair trial and punishment for those miscreants.”

“We are deeply saddened by the kind of barbaric, inhumane attacks being carried out by the anti-social elements on our revered teacher Shri Bidhubhushan Das at Salema Bazar in Kamalpur subdivision this morning. We've been hurt and laid off for 14 months now without government support, financial aid, or pay, we're struggling to make ends meet, living days miserably.     We again humbly appeal to the Home Minister and the Police administration of the state to take the matter seriously.”   “The democracy of the state is in danger. There is no rule of law in the state. The people of the state are living in an uncomfortable situation. There is no freedom of speech. There is no freedom of movement. We want an atmosphere of peace and harmony”, he asserted.
