AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN): A 12-wheeler lorry numbered PB 23 k 2607 was caught with 210kg of cannabis with an estimated market value of around Rs 10 lakh on its way to Ambasa from Agartala by Mungiakami police during a check in 41-mile area.
The driver of the vehicle named Harmesh Singh was able to escape in the incident but later was apprehended by the police. During interrogation, the driver revealed that he is a resident of Punjab. The detainee was currently at Teliamura Mungiakami PS and was expected to be produced in court on Saturday.
However, the violence of drug traffickers is on the rise in the state and the Teliamura subdivision area is also not lagging.
