Santir Bazar : Heavy pieces of jewelry and cashes were stolen in broad daylight from a home

SANTIR BAZAR, May 16 (TIWN): By taking the advantage of an empty house, Abusi Mog(27), son of Neon Mog looted gold ornaments including Rs 20,000 cash from Rabindra Mog’s house in broad daylight. The theft incident occurred at Labre Chandra area under Suresh Nagar Village Panchayat under Baikhora PS, Shantir Bazar subdivision. Reportedly, a group of thieves entered Rabindra Mog’s house at Labre Chandra Para of Suresh Nagar Gram Panchayat in the East-Charakpai area under Baikhora PS in Shantir Bazar subdivision yesterday and took away heavy pieces of jewelry and Rs. 20,000 cash.

During the theft, Rabindra and his wife Bina Debbarma went to a school meeting with their daughters. When they reached home the family found their gate broken. Once they rushed in, they saw their cupboard and showcase locks were broken and the gold and cash were taken away. 

Looking at the CCTV footage of his house Rabindra identified Abusi Mog of Thakurchhara MLA Para from the group. Soon the footage was spread on WhatsApp to different people in the area. Within an hour, the locals caught the notorious thief and handed him over to the Baikhora police.

Based on video footage police took a case No- 08/2021-under section 447/427/380 IPC. After being taken to court, the main accused in connection with theft incidents was remanded in Police custody for 3 days, said the police official, Rajib Saha, he also added the police will try to return the looted gold ornaments including cash.  SI, Rajib Saha also said many theft cases against Abusi Mug are there in different PS. But now it remains to be seen what action would be taken against the thief, Abusi and whether police would be able to return the looted items or not.  But the theft incident in broad daylight has generated panic over the area.

A case was registered against Abusi Mog under sections 447/427/380 of IPC. 

Meanwhile, Baikhora Police Station OC Rajib Saha said that the Bilonia district court remanded Abusi for three days. The officer also said all those involved in the scam would be arrested immediately and will try to return the gold ornaments and money to Rabindra Mog soon. He added that there were already many theft cases registered against Abusi in different police stations.

However, the daring theft during broad daylight has caused a stir in the area.
