AGARTALA, May 14(TIWN): Due to black marketing on court fees and e-stamp, the common public including lawyers, have to buy court fees and e-stamp at high prices from outside. Centering this issue Belonia lawyers placed a deputation to SDM, DM and collector to stop such black marketing in Belonia Court premises.
After the arrival of the new government in the state, to stop the black market business of stamps, an e-stamp system was launched, but common public including lawyers have to buy e-stamps at double the price. To stop such black marketing, the South District Bar Association has repeatedly given notice to the administration, but no steps have been taken to stop this black marketing.
Out of compelled, delegation members, including Krishna Majumder, secretary of the Belonia South District Bar Association, appealed to the DM, Collector on Thursday to take steps to resolve the issue. A copy of the letter was also given to the SDM of Bilonia.
It was alleged that due to black marketing, lawyers including common public are purchasing 5 Rupees stamps at Rs 25 and 20 rupees stamps at Rs 50. Such a black marketing has made the common public exhausted including lawyers. The lawyers demanded that the Chief Minister, Biplab Deb should take action in this regard to stop black marketing.
