AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): Unscheduled power cut remains high, frequent power cuts are disrupting the normal lives in Tripura’s rural areas. Power disruption leads to huge suffering for the villagers, in Kamalnagar area, Teliamura.

It was reported, since last 5-6 days power has been cut in Kamalnagar area, Teliamura. But even after repeatedly informing the electricity department has shown no concerns to fix it allegedly. Long time power cuts have become extreme suffering among Kamalnagar area villagers.

Resentment has been brewing among the villagers over power cuts.

Power disruption in rural areas is nothing new. The disruption of power in rural areas is increasing rapidly especially during the moderate rainfall. The power service gets disrupted in village areas, resumes for five-six days and also lasts for a week. It has seen, even without storms or rainfall the public are facing acute power crisis in rural areas of Tripura.

Also it has noticed electric cables are connected with trees which can cause massive hazards at any time, but even after informing the electricity department remained silent. If the electricity department does not fix it immediately then any time accidents can occur.

Though the Electric Dept has been set to facilitate the people with adequate amounts of electricity in the state but the negligence of the concerned department left the locals to suffer.
