AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): West Dist DM has appeared before the High Level inquiry committee after his April 26 raid in Manikya Court where a marriage was going on by violating the Curfew.
Rportedly, hey completed Bihari traditional marriage and then the Bengali traditional marriage was going on when the raid was held.
On January 26 two marriage halls were raided by the DM after getting complaints from sources. He was returning from GB hospital Covid centre and rushed to the marriage hall. He immediately stopped the entire programme, enforced Curfew protocols and also ordered arrest of some of the violators. Many including bride and the groom were found without masks. The gathering was more than permission.
After the incident, the opposition and a section of social media users raised voice seeking suspension of the District Magistrate.
Now, the whole case is under investigation.
Amid controversy, it was seen that after 26th April, Tripura did not see any marriage in marriage hall after 10 pm by violating Curfew.
