AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): As COVID-19 cases are surging high in Tripura and over hundreds of cases are freshly reported per day, Administration has asked the market committee to decentralize the sales of vegetables now so that less numbers of people come out of homes to gather in markets. On yesterday 124 new cases had been reported as Coronavirus positive. In many places markets are being shifted to larger space bearing areas so that social distancing can be maintained in this pandemic. India on Thursday recorded more than 3.79 lakh new cases of Covid-19 and over 3,600 daily deaths in the last 24 hours. As per Union health ministry data, more than 1.8 crore people have fallen ill due to the coronavirus with over 2 lakh succumbing to the pandemic. India saw a record single-day rise of 3,79,257 new coronavirus infections pushing the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 1,83,76,524, while active cases crossed the 30-lakh mark.

Registering a steady increase, the active cases have increased to 30,84,814 comprising 16.79 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has further dropped to 82.10 per cent.

As per Health Dept's guidelines in Tripura, COVID testing has been made mandatory for all passengers who are entering Tripura from other states.

In Agartala MBB Airport and other entry points like Churabari, Checkpost, Railways same rules are implemented. However, travelers who are already vaccinated and having COVID test's (done within 72 hours) negative reports in hands do not need to re-test in the entry points.

But in an alarming note, it has been informed that 5% passengers are COVID-19 positive."5% is a huge figure. We were testing the Maharashtra passengers and 5% of them are positive............", said the Airport authority.Tripura Health Dept has set a rule that whoever is entering Tripura must have their COVID negative reports or they will be tested in the Airport.
