AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): DYFI, TYF on Sunday demanded a huge employment drive in the medical sector for COVID management when hundreds of Doctors and Nurses remained unemployed.
Addressing media, DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb said, "Various organizations of the world including WHO have expressed concerns about the situation of the pandemic in India but Govt here is not taking needed steps".
"Though CM Biplab Deb said yesterday that Tripura managed COVID-19 well in 2020 but such thoughts are not enough as this time the strain is much more dangerous. How people died in Tripura last year everyone knows that too", said Nabarun Deb.
"It is analyzed that over 5000 deaths may happen in future in India. Health system has collapsed in our state and in many other states and what happened in Tripura in 2020's COVID wave it's known to all and those videos are yet fresh", said Nabarun Deb.
"Our demand is, from Primary hospitals to Dist level hospitals sufficient Doctors and Nurses should be recruited.......", said Nabarun Deb.
"COVID Centres should be opened at sub-divisional level. If we only depend on GB hospital, then it will be a disaster", said Deb.
