AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): As per Health Dept's guidelines in Tripura, COVID testing has been made mandatory for all passengers who are entering Tripura from other states. In Agartala MBB Airport and other entry points like Churabari, Checkpost, Railways same rules are implemented. However, travelers who are already vaccinated and having COVID test's (done within 72 hours) negative reports in hands do not need to re-test in the entry points. But in an alarming note, it has been informed that 5% passengers are COVID-19 positive."5% is a huge figure. We were testing the Maharashtra passengers and 5% of them are positive............", said the Airport authority.Tripura Health Dept has set a rule that whoever is entering Tripura must have their COVID negative reports or they will be tested in the Airport.
When testing started from today, 5% passengers were found positive, which is a matter of much concern.
Airport is only one transport whereas there are entries through checkpost, Railways, Roadways.
In case of not wearing mask properly 500 rupees fining system has been started at the same time.
