Kailasahar, Dec 11 (TIWN): Health and PWD Minister- Badal Chowdhury today concluded his two-day long trip at Kailasahar and left for Agartala. During the visit, he was accompanied by the Health Secretary- Satya Ranjan Debbarma and Engineer-in-Chief Sunil Bhowmik. He arrived at Kailasahar on yesterday to review the work progress of Public Works Department (PWD) and Health Department.
As part of two-day long trip, Badal today visited Unokoti District Hospital and RGM (sub-divisional hospital) at Kailasahar. After visiting the hospitals, Badal admitted that there are lacks of infrastructure.
A review meeting on different works of health department was also conducted at the Kailasahar Circuit House here today. During the meeting, to develop the infrastructure in two hospitals, a district level committee was constituted. District Magistrate (DM), Unokoti district- Gapikha Ranjan Das and Chief Medical Officer (CMO)- Alok Dewan were chosen as chairman and member secretary of the committee respectively. Besides, the PWD minister also reviewed the work progress of Public Works Department on yesterday.
Referring the multi-crore NHM scam in Unokoti district’s CMO office, legal step has been taken by the state government against the involved persons into this financial irregularity, said Badal. The audit report revealed irregularities in adjustment of National Health mission funds, Badal said.
Beside, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Unokoti district, the Sabhadipati of Unokoti district Zilla Parishad, SDMs, MLAs, chairmen of Block Advisory Committees and many other officers from various departments attended the review meeting
