AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Amid massive hikes of Petrol, Diesel prices across the nation, Tripura BJP Govt has not taken any step to decrease VAT imposed on the fuel leading excessive fuel prices in state. As the diesel prices are touching sky, Tripura Bus owners had called on a Bus strike from today for an indefinite period of time.
Later, Transport Dept talked to the Bus Owners Association and it was seen that overnight fares were hiked. No press conference was done by the Dept but in 3 years more than once such fare hike decisions have been taken. Resentments have been fueled high among the people who had no idea about such hikes. Moreover, no chart was given, no proper information by the Govt spokesperson was delivered about fare hikes.
Talking to media, passengers said that the increasing fares and fuel prices have been affecting public lives a lot. Govt must take action to decrease the fuel prices. Diesel Price in Agartala is Rs. 84.82 today.
