AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): In a rare allegation-trend, BJP led Tripura Govt has blamed previous CPI-M Govt for BJP Govt's decision on Fare Hikes.
It has been more than once that the fares have increased in Tripura in the last 3 years. Due to diesel prices' massive hike, the bus owners had called for a strike. After that the Transport Dept overnight increased fare without any Transport Dept press briefing.
But what was strange about this incident is that the Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has blamed the previous Left Govt for the hike. He said that the previous Govt did not raise fares for 6 years and it has deprived the transport workers and thus now this Govt is increasing fares.
"Everyone knows about fuel price hikes and when fuel prices will be hiked, the transport related workers face losses. Thus, to maintain the expenditure of the vehicle owners, welfare of the workers, we had to take the decision", said the Minister.
