Former Minister Badal Choudhury's Elder Brother's home Vandalized by BJP : Raised, 'Jai Sri Ram Slogan'

AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Amid attacking Badal Choudhury's Belonia home, at around 8:30 in the morning a group of 250-300 people, lead by the Mandal President Asesh Baidya, Badal Bhowmick, Rajib Pal, Nidhu Roy vandalized the house of Ranjit Choudhury, 76, elder brother to Badal Choudhury.

Reportedly, the group was brought together with the word of a deputation to the DM, South Tripura, inorder to permanently settle the issue of 10323 teachers and MNREGA, for which they held Badal Choudhury, MLA Hrishyamukh responsible. But most of them started to back off as the group was diverted towards Badal Choudhury's house and they started carrying out vandalism. The fence was dismantled, stones were pebbled and "Jai Shri Ram" slogans were raised.
The house is resided by Ranjit Choudhury, who has been sick for over five months with Post COVID disorders and his wife Niyati Sarkar, 73.

This continued for more than an hour until the police arrived in spot. The vandalism had already been carried out by the time the police arrived. The police did not for once go inside the house or enquire the couple about their whereabouts, until now. The crowd dispersed by itself a little later. They carried out with their hooliganism even after the police arrived. Nobody was arrested.
