AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): In a big relief for the SSA teachers in Tripura who are working for Tripura Education Dept on contractual basis, Tripura High Court has ordered the State Govt to regularize them. This verdict has ushered hopes among RMSA, NHM to move to the High Court for justice.

Chief Justice Akil Kureshi has given the verdict in favour of the SSA teachers. Chief Justice has asked the Govt to clear all arrears of the teachers by counting their regular pays from the 5 years completion date of their job joining dates.

Indeed, celebrations were observed in Tripura High Court premises by the teachers as this verdict has permanently settled their lives and livelihoods.

Addressing media, Senior Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said that SAA is a Central and State project where the salary is divided in 90:10 ratio between Centre and State but no Govt had regularized them even though they were protesting for regularization from a long time.

Teachers expressed happiness over the decision taken by the Court. Back in 2017, the SSA teachers held a 7 days hunger strike for regularization which created history. On that time, BJP as opposition promised them that they will be regularized once BJP is voted to power but after coming to power, BJP took a 360 degree turn from the given promise and said, SSA is Central project and thus the teachers can not be regularized, further raised questions on the teachers "quality".

But now, no more excuses will work out as the High Court ordered for the SSA's regularization.
