NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): National Congress has expressed grievance over Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb's statement about 'Amit Shah's plan to Govern at Nepal and Sri Lanka' by bringing BJP to power in those countries. Addressing in a press meet at Delhi Congress headquarter, National Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, "This is not the first time that Biplab Deb has delivered a ridiculous statement but earlier also he talked similar meaningless things. But this time, it is not a joke as it has hurt the international relation and if damage repairing is not done immediately, then it may result into massive-diplomatic blunder. Govt must force Biplab Deb to say sorry to Sri Lanka, Nepal and those countries people for his statement. Those countries are having elected Governments and democratically ruled. How can someone give such statements, it's just shocking".

Such statements from Biplab Deb are not new but earlier also his comments like "Punjabis and Jats have less brain", "Diana Hayden was not worthy to be Miss World", "Internet was existing in Mahabharata's time", "Ducks can increase oxygen in Lakes, Water Bodies" etc stirred controversy.

On the other side, Sri Lanka commented against the news reports that Indian ruling party wants to expand BJP Govt in that country.

"Any Sri Lankan political party or group is permitted to have external links with any party or group overseas. But our electoral laws do not permit overseas political parties to work here", said Sri Lanka Election Commission.
