AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): Tripura Human Rights Organization has condemned the arrest of Disha Ravi, the Climate Activist of Bengaluru and Delhi Court's further permission for 5-days-police remand to her.

"This arrest itself was a wrong action taken by Delhi Police. In expressing support to a protest nobody can be arrested, but  going one step ahead, the Delhi Court has given 5 days police remand to her", said Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman, Tripura Human Rights Organization General Secretary.

"The Govt is doing this type of undemocratic work only. Whoever is raising voice, it is putting him/her behind the bar. Delhi Police is so active that it has arrested her from Bengaluru and Court's play is just unexpected", said Purushottom Roy Barman.

“In India, protests, freedom of speech are fundamental rights. Such attacks are unexpected, unprecedented", said Barman.

Disha Ravi, was arrested by Delhi Police in toolkit case, is one of the founding members of a group named 'Fridays For Future India', a movement started by climate activist Greta Thunberg.
