AGARTALA, Feb 5 (TIWN): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has cited several examples from 37 lakhs populated state Tripura where BJP could not uphold democracy after it cheated the people with lots of fake promises. Addressing the SC welfare programme in her state, Banerjee told the gathering, "How far do you know the BJP ? Go to Tripura and other BJP ruled states and ask them how they are living. BJP promised to make over ten-thousand teachers permanent but has eaten up all the jobs".

"Today nobody can speak in Tripura. Barbaric attacks are organized on poor people, even rickshaw drivers. Before the 2018 election, many leaders from Congress had joined BJP and helped BJP to establish in power. I feel sad indeed", she said.

"On yesterday, the former Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Babu (Manik Sarkar) was saying, what is the condition of Tripura right now. Nobody can speak there. Many people are sheltered in West Bengal out of fear", added Mamata Banerjee.
