AGARTALA, December 7 (TIWN): Banking cyber crimes again stands tall with the ATM hackers asking for an ATM and its pin number. On another such incident today one unknown hacker called from a cell phone number: +919631589061 was found asking one bank customer of Agartala for her ATM pin number and its details.
Falling victim into the increasing rate of banking cyber crimes here at the capital city Agartala, one bank customer from Agartala today called TIWN and informed that, today at around 3:15 PM one unknown person called her from the number +919631589061 and said that her bank ATM has been blocked and it needs to be open today itself.
It was also reported that, the hacker called the customer and introduced himself to be calling from customer care executive and said that “Your ATM has been blocked and you need to fix it today”. Later when the bank customer said that tomorrow she will go to the bank and fix her ATM service, the hacker forced the customer to fix it today and the customer needs to give her bank details along with the ATM number and pin number. Though later the customer making a doubt on it denied giving any details. And thereafter the hacker disconnected the phone. The hacker today made 15 minutes conversation with the bank customer
However, later the bank customer who today fell victim with the ATM hacker, lodged an FIR with the East Police Station against the number: +919631589061.
According to the police, many such complaints had been received so far at the police station. But, it is to be mentioned here that till today the Tripura police had failed to trace any of such ATM hackers, whereas on the other the banking cyber crimes has been rising at an alarming rate here in Tripura, where the customers insecurity still prevails.
