KAMALPUR, Dec 6, (TIWN): A speeding Maruti Van bearing No. TR-03E-0765 knocked an aged widow Suniti Sarkar (82) w/o: Lt Laxmikanta Sarkar and injured seriously at Fulchari around 10-45 am. The injured person was immediately shifted to BSM Hospital, Kamalpur. The on duty traffic constable seized the vehicle and the driver namely Jayanta Datta of Bhubanban, Agartala from the spot.

Traffic ASI Nagendra Malakar informed that, the vehicle was on rush, when it knocked the old lady. Though the driver tried best to stop the vehicle, but he could not stop it completely due to great speed. However, Kamalpur Police seized the vehicle along with driver and filed a case. The doctors told the condition of Suniti as critical. She received critical injuries to her head and legs.
