AGARTALA, Jan 11 (TIWN): Narayan Das, resident of Hapania went to his father-in-law's house at Ambassa Colony this morning and got into an argument with his wife Kajoli Shahi who was staying there for a while. After raising argument, Narayan allegedly stabbed his wife with a sharp weapon. After mother-in-law Jaya Shahi tried to stop him, Narayan stabbed Jaya to death.

As soon as the incident came to light, the locals surrounded the house, were once exposed to kill Narayan but the Police immediately came to the spot, rescued Narayan, and arrested him.

Police and TSR forces were also deployed in the area.
