KAMALPUR, Dec 5 (TIWN): All the 40 families of Kurmaghat, outside the barbed-wire fencing of Indo-Bangla border at Kamalpur were shifted to Indian mainland inside fencing almost ten years ago. The administration assured them of providing adequate land for civilized living.
Then they left their family land, where they produced ample vegetables and earned their livelihood. Being outside the fencing, they were under threat of Bangladeshi miscreants and the torture and humiliation of police and BSF. With a desire to live a completely different life they shifted inside the fencing.
But till now those families deprived of their demands. They not only deprived of getting land but also lost their traditional livelihood. Speaking to TIWN, members of those families Tamijuddin, Nur Uddin and others alleged that, they appealed to administration several times. The administration only gave assurance after assurance. Now, they became hopeless about their future in their motherland.
