AGARTALA, Dec 29 (TIWN): After rebel MLA Sudip Roy Barman installed former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cancer Centre amid facing FIRs from the state government official, now Biplab Deb inaugurated the newly constructed "Atal Bridge" on the Jury River on the Jubrajnagar-Deochhara road. This is seen by critics a move to damage repair over his Anti-Atal-Bihari action against own party MLA.
The strained relation between the chief minister and his own party MLAs has widened further after Biplab’s government registered FIR against MLA Sudip Roy Barman centering Vajpayee’s statue installation. Amid facing FIRs, Barman who believes more in deeds than in words (unlike our chief minister) organized blood donation camps and rallies, marched with majority MLAs, and installed the first statue of Vajpayee in Tripura on Dec 25.
The schism in the BJP’s state unit was evident as majority of party leaders joined Barman’s rally on that day.
