AGARTALA, Dec 28 (TIWN): 10323 teachers' protest for indefinite period of time has fallen on Day 22 amid no response has been given by State Govt yet in concern of the teachers' situations. This protest which had started from December 7 has been continuously going on without a single day's gaps. Many teachers during the protest had fallen sick but so far no call was given by the State Govt to hold any discussion. The teachers also said that they are ready to talk about the legal ground and have legal stands which can help the Govt to secure 10323 teachers previously held teaching jobs but State Govt neither has shown any interest to discuss with the agitating teachers nor displayed any sympathy.

BJP before election promised to solve 10323 teachers issues and to bring amendments to make continuation of their jobs but for long 10 months, the teachers are unemployed and BJP Govt has failed to keep its promise given to the teachers.

The 10323 teachers' uncertain futures started since High Court's verdict on 7th May, 2014 by the then Chief Justice. Although the Court gave certain options, but challenging the total order and not showing interest for negotiation, the State Govt under Left regime moved Supreme Court but after years of pending, Supreme Court upheld High Court's decision. The teachers are jobless today although nobody could alleged yet about any nexus between TRBT and Teachers recruitment but it was just error of recruitment process. However when Left Govt was arranging alternative jobs for 10323 teachers, the BJP as opposition turned the whole scene by assuring 10323 teachers that BJP Govt will continue 10323 teachers problems if BJP voted to power, but now amid BJP Govt's 33 months rule, nothing could be done for the teachers yet and the teachers are jobless for 9 months. In this condition, the 10323 Joint Movement Committee has started an agitation from December 7, 2020 for an indefinite period of time but after 22 days of passage, no Govt representative has met the teachers.

Today JMC also announced to go in schools for duties from January 1st as their jobs were never terminated.
