BISHALGARH, December 3 (TIWN): After the recent slamming of High Court for positive police investigation, police seems to have started to act at least to save its face in the Rs 50 crore scam in Bishalgarh R D Block . Though the police remained a mute spectator against the 11 accused till date, (only comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty surrendered) , after the HC slamming, police are now showing some interests in arresting some of the accused.

Today at around 7.30pm Bishalgarh police arrested Jr Engineer Kishore Banik from Haripur near Suryamani Nagar. With this 6 out of 12 accused came under the grip of police. 

        It is to be mentioned here that incumbent BDO lodged a case against Bimal Chakraborty(Manik Sarkar's close aid cum Comrade BDO,also  brother of DYFI  state Secretary Amal Chakraborty) and others in Rs 50 crore MGNREGA scam in Bishalgarh Police Station( case no 135/14) under Section 409/468/471/34 of IPC. Earlier BDO Bimal Chakraborty surrendered and along with  Gautam Pal(Work Assistant), Subir Ukil(Work Assistant), Tarun Kanti Sen(Panchayat Secretary), Nibas Pal (Jr Mechanic),  he  is now in Judicial custody. Tonight police arrested Kishore Kr Banik, Jr Engineer . 

       Speaking to TIWN over phone a police official told ," Today acting on a secret information police arrested Kishore from Haripur area. Now he is police lock up. On Thursday he will be produced before the SDJM Court.
