AGARTALA, Oct 30 (TIWN): On the day of Laxmi puja, fire crackers' sales are on peak, which however may increase the Air Pollution. Thus, Lakshmi puja, Diwali celebrations also means burning unregulated firecrackers, which release large amounts of toxic chemicals into the air.
Although business remained gloom this year in festival days, but there is no lack of crowd in the markets. Moderate business was reported in Fire Cracker markets as these are the annual demands of children.
Pollution control board however gazing against any noise pollution in the puja.
Kojagari Lakshmi puja is mostly celebrated in the eastern parts of the country, across West Bengal, Assam, Orissa, and Bihar. In most parts of the country, it is commonly known as Sharad Purnima. However, most people in India worship Goddess Lakshmi on Amavasya Tithi during Diwali.
