AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): High vegetable prices have hit normal lives across Tripura, affecting the budget-management of middle-class and poor families.
Markets which are dependent upon Shillong products are burning with skyrocketing prices amid COVID-19 led economic crisis.
Businessmen at Gol Bazar said, "We are bound to buy our products from Shillong by compromising tastes as local products are seeking double price. Onion are sells Rs.80 per Kg and Potato are sells Rs.60 .If green chilli, price is Rs. 60 which came from Shillong, but Tripura's local green chillis are of Rs. 120 and in all commodities, in similar way prices are high. Thus we are collecting products from Shilling".
Cauliflower recorded Rs. 180 kilo here whereas tomatoes also at Rs. 80 to 100.
