AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Congress's newly appointed State Incharge Kuljit Singh Nagra has raised question about the promised compensation to the COVID-19 deceased family members. Hitting the BJP Govt and its doubtful promise, Kuljit Singh asked when the families will be given with their promised amounts ? This issue is now the hot-cake of controversy where Tripura Govt has failed to give Rs. 10 lakhs to COVID deceased families from Media, Medical dept, police etc, although the numbers of dead persons crossed 300 already. In month of May, CM promised to give Tripura Govt will pay Rs. 10 lakhs to family of the deceased of Front Line Warriors. Earlier Tripura Govt had announced to pay Rs. 4 lakhs to the victim families of COVID19 patient if s/he died in the pandemic but now CM has introduced new scheme paying Rs. 10 lakhs to the Front Line Warriors of State if dies.
In the warriors Health workers along with Doctors, media, police personnel are listed. On October 5, in a shocking remark to the High Court, Advocate General Arun Bhowmik reportedly has said that Rs. 1,500 to home quarantined people was CM's announcement but not State Govt's decision.
