Agartala, Nov 29 (TIWN): Tripura Madrassa (SPQEM) Teachers’ Association, state committee today submitted a memorandum with 5-point charter of demands to the School Education Director- Pradip Kumar Chakraborty.
Over 300 members of the association today organized a rally, which was started from Moulana Abul Kalam Azad guest house of Office Lane traversing through city roads ended at the office of the School Education Director. Later, a 5-member delegation of the association led by the state committee secretary- Shah Alam met with the School Education Director and placed a memorandum with 5-point charter of demands.
The 5-point demands of the association are; to regularize the Madrassa (SPQEM) teachers as per the decision taken by the Madrassa Advisory Committee on December 31, 2009. To cover up a total of 129 Madrassa centers under SPQEM of the state with the grant-in-aid immediately. To constitute a Madrassa Board in the state without any delay. To provide salary and allowances to the honours graduate teachers, according to the government notification of 2010 and to provide various facilities to the SPQEM teachers like other teachers of the state.
After taking a look on their demands, the director admitted the logicality of the demands and assured them to forward the demands to the higher authority shortly. Tripura Madrassa (SPQEM) Teachers’ Association, state committee will move to stage massive protests if their demands remain unfulfilled after two months, said state committee secretary- Shah Alam today.
