Two PWD Gypsy cars gutted : Miscreants suspected

AGARTALA, November 28 (TIWN): In a mysterious fire, two Gypsy cars bearing number TRO1-1124 and TRG-1009 were gutted at PWD office garage at Netaji Chownuhani, here this evening.

The police suspect that the reason behind the fire is short circuit. Though, police initiated investigation into the matter.

“It is difficult to say how the vehicles caught fire. We have initiated an investigation but there are no clues as yet,” said a police officer.

The incident took place around 6:45 pm. The vehicles were all parked inside the PWD garage.

“I got up when smoke began entering my office room. I ran out and found that the two Gypsy cars were ablaze. Soon several people from the neighboring areas also gathered at the spot. We then poured buckets of water on the vehicles and tried to put out the fire. A local resident namely Manish said that it was the first such incident in the area.

After getting the information three fire tenders rushed to the spot and took control of the situation.
