Tripura High Court issued Notice to State Govt over COVID-19 Mismanagement, Queried on Fund-Utilization, Treatment Protocols : Public Faith on Judiciary strengthened for the Much Needed Action through Suo moto cognisance

AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): Tripura High Court took a public interest Suo moto cognisance on Corona mismanagement in Tripura under Case number WP (C) (Self Motivated) 563/2020. The case has been taken up in the division bench of Chief Justice Akil Kureshi and Justice Shubhashis Talapatra and the first date of hearing was scheduled today. Accepting the cognizance today High Court has issued show-cause notice to Tripura Govt seeking answers on certain factors. This action was necessitated as Tripura’s Corona-Virus management has gone out of control and people are dying like insects without any treatment, oxygen and everyday news have been published on those negligence. Even dead-bodies are rotten, eaten by insects have become viral in state.

 Today High Court has issued Notice to Tripura BJP Govt over COVID-19 mismanagement, Queried on Fund-Utilization. Talking to media, Senior Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman has said that by this action, Tripura High Court has taken a very important step and public faith on the Judiciary to be strengthened.

The senior Advocate said, “Accepting this suo moto case, Court has issued notice to the State Govt. I think due to deteriorating situation of the health services this action has been taken. This is a very positive move I would say”.

“Court asked Tripura Govt regarding oxygen cylinder management, communication between doctors and the patient party, funding utilization, treatment protocol, District wise management etc”, said Purushottom Roy Barman.

He has hailed the High Court for taking this suo moto cognizance for the public welfare.

Tripura has so far witnessed 173 deaths and it is going higher everyday in a very swift manner, whereas patient parties are alleging 'No Treatment' of COVID. A Doctor has been referred to other state for better treatment, which has again exposed state's condition.
