AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): Congress party along with Seva Dal has staged an agitation over the attack on Congress leader Birjit Sinha seeking security for the former Congress MLA. On August 25, Birjit Sinha was brutally attacked and narrowly saved from major injury but a man who was with him was injured as per the party’s statement. Congress had given time to 30th August to the Govt to make arrest of the miscreants. Today a massive protest was staged by Congress seeking justice and also more security to the Congress leader. On August 26, reacting over the attack on Congress leader Birjit Sinha, Congress State President Pijush Biswas has warned to go in Strike if the criminals are not arrested.
The press meet was conducted after Congress staged a protest against the incident. Congress has started protests and Pijush Biswas said that this protest will continue till the culprits are arrested.
Addressing media, Congress President Pijush Biswas said, day after day such attacks can not be tolerated.
“In Bishalgrah clash, the BJP also attacked on Congress with petrol bombs but till now, no action has been taken, neither anyone was arrested”, said Biswas.
He also mentioned, on yesterday’s attack on Birjit Sinha if the target of the miscreants was not missed, then it could be serious for him.
Biswas also referred, how time to time, Birjit Sinha was attacked in election times infront of police, saying, “It can not happen that day after day, such attacks will be tolerated like this”.
