BSNL employees hold demonstration

AGARTALA, November 27 (TIWN): The employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Thursday hold a protest demonstration in front of BSNL office at Kaman Chouwmuhani regarding their 30 point charter of demands and urged the central government to fulfill their demands within March, 2015.

Highlighting the demand State committee Convener of Joint Action Committee (JAC) Tirthankar Choudhury said our demands are:

1. Settlement of stagnation in the cadres of RM, Group D, industrial workers etc.

2. Removal of wage disparity between the non-executives who were appointed before 01.01.2007 and on or after 01.01.2007.

3.Payments of PLI, by putting in place a new PLI formula. PLI should be paid without linking it to PMS and regardless of the company making loss. Settlement of hardships created by the management, in the implementation of the NEPP.

4. Removal of hardships in getting compassionate fround appointments. Restoration of LTC, leave encashment and medical advance. Immediate implementation of E1 pay scale. Change of designations of the non-executives without further delay.

5.Regular promotion of the officiating JTOS. Implementation of 30% superannuation benefits to the directly recruited employees.

6.Relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST employees in departmental/internal promotion exams,as per the Dop&T orders.

7.Review of the results of the JTO/JAO exams conducted last by granting grace marks. Fresh recruitment of staff in the non-executive cadres.

8.Regularization of the left out TSN/Casual labourers. Implementation of corporate office orders on payment of minimum wages and implementation of labour laws in social security measures like EPF and ESI.

9.Permitting the non-executives to appear management trainee exam.

10. Promotion of the officials who had completed telecom mechanic training.

11.Revision of the wages of the casual labour and TSMs, based on IDA pay scales.

12. Filling up of SC/ST backlog vacancies and many more, he added.    

"If our demands are not fulfill within March, 2015 we will go for further mass demonstration", Choudhury said. Other members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) were also present in the demonstration.
