AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): Tripura Ex-CM Manik Sarkar challenged to ‘pull out’ BJP Govt from power, saying, such an inhuman, pro-corporate, anti-poor Govt has no right to hold the power.
Sarkar was addressing in Agartala’s mammoth rally of the CPI-M and said, everywhere there are waves of changes and soon it will hit the base of the BJP.
“In the name of COVID-19, BJP Govt although suppressing the voice of the common men, but they are enjoying violation of own law and all COVID-19 rules are imposed on the non-BJP voices. In few states, they are even holding rallies amid COVID for election. But before COVID-19, the country is deadly affected with economic crisis. Thousands of people left home in Tripura due to no-work in the state and massive unemployed problems amid loot era across state. But the BJP Govt did not help the poor financially, neither could take any step to control the Corona-virus pandemic and the numbers of deaths are reporting with huge community transmission”, said Manik Sarkar.
Manik Sarkar said, “There is nothing called End in Politics. Always remember that”. Claps, slogans welcomed Manik Sarkar’s challenge to the BJP Govt. Calling the BJP Govt a “Nikamma” Govt, Manik Sarkar took a dig at it over paralyzed health services, downed economic condition. “A loot era is going on in state and in country. Don’t be afraid comrades ! Also, don’t stop police to do their works. I can feel the changes. Might be one day, police will leave their uniform and rifles will be moved in opposite direction, just like it happened in the British era”. “For unemployed youths, for daily workers, for sufferers, the red-wave will bring a new sunrise in state. Take oath from today’s rally that it is the start of ending of BJP”, added Sarkar.
CPI-M’s rally on Wednesday turned larger than expectation, joined by many voters who voted for BJP in 2018.
Although police arrested top leaders but could not arrest all due to the limited numbers of buses there and Police arrested top leaders including Ex-CM Manik Sarkar.
However, former CM Manik Sarkar was detained under police’s request and Manik Sarkar today asked comrades to cooperate with police as police are not anyone’s enemy. But, the CPI-M agitators stopped the bus and brought back Manik Sarkar from bus and the bus remained immovable due to protest.
