AGARTALA, Aug 26 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M has staged massive protest in Agartala on Wednesday which was announced earlier. Although it's a part of nationwide protest, but in Tripura it was staged in unique way. Red flags flooded the capital city Agartala led by Opposition leader, cum former CM Manik Sarkar. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar delivered a firing speech, lashing out the BJP Govt, accusing it for conducting a "Loot Regime" with improper planning and management. Sarkar's strike on the Health Services went at high pitches and said, BJP led State Govt has totally failed to control the pandemic. Manik Sarkar's firing speech echoed claps across and he hit the State and Central Govt over daily workers' miserable conditions, increasing unemployment problems.
Statewide massive protests, clashes were reported.Sarkar in his Agartala speech said that thousands of people are out of state as the BJP Govt has failed to give them works and economy is at massive down. When police came to arrest the CPI-M agitators, Sarkar asked comrades not to put police in tough times, saying, even police knows what’s going on in the state and they are just trying to do what they are said to do.
“One Day Police will move their rifles to the ruler just like it happened in British era. I can sense the changing weather”, said Manik Sarkar.
