Reportedly, On 25 August night when the ex-MLA Birjit Sinha was going to Kailashahar from Agartala, a group of miscreants attacked on him. This incident took place in Jirania area. His bodyguard had severe injuries and admitted in hospital. Later police controlled the situation and provided Police protection to the MLA to reach home.

 

This incident made everyone condemn. The Unakoti District Congress members staged a protest rally against this brutal attack. The members later placed deputation to DIG of Tripura. The President of Unakoti District Congress Md Bajaruddaman strongly condemned this act and said that such attacks will not be tolerated anymore, the concerned authority have to take strong action against such acts. He also demanded strong punishment against the miscreants.
