AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): Congress top leader, Councilor Ratna Dutta, whose husband was allegedly tortured by police recently has now joined BJP, giving “shocks” to her Congress party.

While joining she could not control her attachment with her previous Congress party, tears were falling on her cheeks and also denied to speak a single word against Congress Party, but she said, “I am really feeling sad today leaving the long path”.

“For the development of the state, I have joined the party”, she added.

She appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for COVID-19 control in India saying, BJP Govt only can give a good governance.

BJP State President Dr. Manik Saha, Minister Ratanlal Nath, MP Pratima Bhowmik were present in the joining programme. 

West Dist. Congress President Narayan Dutta (Husband of Ratna Dutta) and Councilor Sampa Sarkar Chowdhury also joined BJP today.
