AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): MLA cum Deputy Speaker of Tripura Assembly Biswabandhu Sen got stuck in the blockade, expressed resentment over the road blockade alleging ‘public suffering’ who are blocked on road due to protest. Ironically, the blockade was done in water crisis problem under his own party's Govt.

The agitating public’s demands however are also valid as this area is deprive of drinking water facility, dependent upon water-body’s dirty water for a long time. They said that their drinking water’s only source is a stream in the area but for last 3 months Thamting area’s new gas-point’s leakage has caused dirty water flows which has turned the water “unusable” for them.

For 2 hours the blockade continued and then OC-Jirania PS, SDPO, ONGC staffs and SDM rushed to the spot and assured the villagers about solving their problems. After that the blockade was withdrawn.
