The protest took place in front of the Madhupur Electric Office. The locals alleged that the department is charging more money per unit. As a result the bill is coming 3 times more than the usual.

 

The proper amount is 3.34 rupees per unit, according to the government's instruction. But Madhupur Electric department's officers are changing 7.20 rupees per unit, as a result the total electricity bills are coming much more than the actual, claimed the locals.

 

The frustrated agitators gheraoed the electric office and demanded to charge the money as per government's instruction. They alleged that, for the lockdown many of them are not able to earn and in this period of crisis, such negligence of the government's officials are making their lives more miserable.
