AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): As expected, Tripura BJP MLA, sacked Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman has been punished by State Govt after he distributed food items among the patients of Bhagat Singh COVID-19 Care Centre. He is directed to stay in AD Nagar Quarantine centre whereas ironically, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb did not bother to go to Institutional Quarantine even after his personal security was tested COVID-19 Positive.
At the same time, BJP MLA Rampada Jamatia too went in Institutional quarantine, which has been said by Law Minister Ratanlal Nath in press meet but why there would be a different rule for Chief Minister Biplab Deb for coming in contact with COVID-19 positive man and MLA Sudip Barman amid Sudip Barman met patients by wearing PPEs.
Amid all these, Sudip Barman is now being appreciated for his courageous step to enter in Bhagat Singh COVID-19 Care Centre to distribute food and to check the situation there, listen the complaints from the patients there. Patients of Bhagat Singh COVID-19 Care Centre has thanked the MLA, for standing beside them in the toughtime. The quarantine order for MLA Sudip Bamran was signed by West DM Sandeep Mahatme.
After visiting the COVID-19 Care Centre at Bhagat Singh hostel, MLA Sudip Barman told media, “I have talked to the incharge here and also going to talk to other officers in duty. A fear is being working among the duty given employees inside the centre. However, the reason may be anything, but a strict monitoring is needed for the patients' safety and comforts. There must be a monitoring factor”.
