AGARTALA, July 29 (TIWN): In another incident villagers, in a large number stopped medical team from conducting door to door survey. This time the incident took place in Lal Mira para of Rajpur Village.

The mask-less villagers staged protest on Wednesday when the medical team went to the village for conducting door to door survey. The villagers stopped them saying, "medical team can spread Corona in their Corona-free village".

Later, a huge number of police rushed there to control the mass gathering amid lockdown.

Previously, the villagers of Mungiyakami ADC area did the same protest, stopped the medical team from entering their village. Even the SDM had to give up and return from the place with her team without surveying in that village.

However, the incident has proven the Health Department’s failure as there is still no permanent Health Minister in Tripura.

Under the leadership of former Health Minister, Sudip Barman, awareness programmes were a regular occurrence and even malaria patients were given the proper awareness.
