AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): COVID-19 Patients at Bhagat Singh Care Centre has displayed extreme inhumanity on lady Doctor and 5 women COVID-19 patients who are Post-Cesarean saying, “No more COVID patients will be allowed in the Bhagat Singh Care Centre”. This incident took place on Friday late-night, whereas today in a statement, Dr. Sangeeta Chakraborty expressed her shocks over the unexpected incident. The argument between Medical Team and other Patients turned ugly after the Patients started using extreme ‘rude’, ‘slang’ words against the lady Doctor Sangeeta Chakraborty and later a person had thrown water on the Doctor from upper floors. Later, the patients were moved to GB hospital and medical team was bound to leave the Care centre.

The Doctors team was ready to listen to the plea of the patients but they had requested the angry Patients at least to allow the patients for their entries for now, as the Post-Cesarean women COVID-19 Patients were feeling suffocation inside ambulance. But, nothing worked out and the existing Patients at the COVID-19 care centre continued harsh behaviour against Doctors’ team.

All Tripura Govt Doctors Association has condemned the attack on Doctor Sangeeta Chakraborty who has been working day-night in the COVID-19 since the pandemic started.

Dr. Sangeeta Chakraborty is the District Health Officer of the West District, was entering to the COVID-19 care centre with 5 COVID-19 pregnant women from Tripura Medical College hospital in Hapania on last night.

First few COVID-19 patients who were residing already in the Care Centre started protesting, stopping the ambulance saying, if the new patients come here, then others will feel problems as the Care Centre is already full.

The Doctor insisted that the women have to give shelter here as there is no other place arranged right now for them. The patients instead of cooperating, attempted to spit on her and were trying to go close to her.

Doctors Association said that, when the whole world is waiting for the vaccine’s invention, instead of respecting the COVID-19 front line workers, they have treated Doctors in such inhuman ways. The Association members also asked, "How cruelty could be displayed in such ways against  Post-Cesarean Women Patients" ?
