AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Tripura Employees Co-ordination Committee (Tripura Karmachari Somonyoy Committee) on Saturday has demanded clearance of Pending 17% DA to Tripura Employees. Addressing media, the employees said, "Lastly in 2017, July 4% DA gap hardly remained between State and Centre but from 2017, 2018, 2019, no DA was given to the employees. In 2020, we are right now not commenting, as by official notification, the Central Govt has stayed its DA. So, we are not demanding 21% DA but only 17%". The statement came after Tripura Govt could not announce any DA in July, 2020 but only 3% increment was raised, which is an annual law.

The teachers raised more demands as : Alternative Jobs for 10323 teachers, Cancellation of imposing work hours more than 8 hours on workers, proper costs of crops to be given to farmers along with distribution of agriculture-needed items, financial help to poor for COVID-19, MGNREGA 200 days works and Rs. 340 wages etc.

They also said, "No vacant posts can be cancelled and nobody can be appointed by outsourcing, no privatization of Govt properties, companies, enough PPE for medical staffs", said the teachers.
